Say cheese! This place is all about cheese and you gotta check it out if you called yourself a cheese lover! Gotta go online to make reservation or you won’t stand a chance!

Our server asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, which are both paid options as we found out later. Our server did not mention the option for free tap water so there is a slight feeling of being tricked. Also note that tax is added after the bill is calculated; compare receipt and the menu prices in the pictures attached. Other than the above complaints, our food was very good. In the pictures below, the rectangle item is La Burger, the square item is La Raclette, and the six sided item is La Vegan. Yes, they do have a vegan menu item! They also have a coat check, which is a nice convenience.

When exploring Niseko village on foot one day, we were intrigued to try raclette on offer at The Alpinist. A true European experience in Japan from the moment you arrive (this restaurant took our coats for us), the waiters were attentive, friendly, and enthusiastic. Of particular mention was Claire who looked after us exceptionally from start to finish. She helped us decide on our meal from their large selection on offer and did so with great passion and verve. Thank you, Claire, for making our first raclette experience as authentic and enjoyable as you did!! Cheers!

Great duck crepe and onion soup. We spent about 3,000 Yen each for one main, one shared reclette and two onion soups. Surprisingly we got in on a sat evening and was not fully booked unlike the 5-6 we checked earlier

Very chill place to relax & have some drinks & light meal. Interior decoration was very European with interesting displays of antique ski gear. We ordered the La Raclette which was essentially a cheese, bacon & potato crepe, not sweet but savory & it was very yummy. My cappuccino was good, strong enough & flavorful. Good services too.

Crepes reminiscent of skiing in the French alps.

Only had the fondue, no raclette. The cheese was very good, but it's traditional so only came with bread. The crepe was also good, but I would probably go something more simple. Service was reasonable as was the wine list.

The food at the alpinist was very yummy! Their crêpes are incredible! The portions are quite small so if you’re a big eater you should order a bit more food. Their alcoholic coffees were quite strong so don’t order a double!;) The staff were quite friendly as well! Nice decor with gorgeous view of the mountain!

Go for the raclette for 4 people. Great quality and good quantity, even by French standard.

My friends and I went 3 times in a row this weekend, as this place is so good. French fondue and raclette served by a French owner. The real French Alps food experience brought to you in niseko! Don't go there if you can't eat of digest cheese. And final advice, drink wine, no water, as cold water would turn the melted cheese into a hard ball in your stomach.
